COAC

For the fourth year running, the Architects’ Association—in conjunction with Barcelona City Council, the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, Construmat and ARQUIN-FAD—are organizing Architecture Week, which will take place between 7 and 17 May 2020.

Following the success of the first Architecture in the Classrooms, which involved 65 schools and 4,000 students, we will be bringing architecture to primary and secondary schools once again with the collaboration of the Barcelona Education Consortium.

The Governing Board of the Architects’ Association of Catalonia has decided to award the 2019 COAC Medals to 48H Open House and the Jordi Capell Architects’ Cooperative. With this distinction, the COAC recognises the work undertaken by both entities in sharing information on architectural heritage, architects and architecture. 

The COAC Medals are the institutional distinction awarded by the Architects’ Association of Catalonia in recognition of  individuals' or entities' contributions to the progress of architecture or the COAC itself.

Després de la recent renovació de la façana de l’edifici, i aprofitant el seu enclavament privilegiat, el COAC fa un nou pas endavant amb l’objectiu de reforçar la seva vinculació amb la ciutadania, fent-lo alhora més versàtil i accessible. L'objectiu és esdevenir un punt de trobada entre ciutadans i arquitectes, espai comú de debat i reflexió amb la voluntat de conscienciar sobre el rol de l’arquitectura i, alhora, impulsar la recerca.
