For the fourth year running, the COAC had its annual meeting with international correspondents, held on 23 December at the Plaça Nova headquarters. During the event, 5 new correspondents were introduced: Lluís Casadevall (Munich, Germany), Pau Iglesias (Passo Fundo, Brazil), Carles Arribas (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Bibiana Sciortino (Córdoba, Argentina), and Lea Eidler, who is taking over as correspondent in San Francisco, USA.

The European Commission and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe have announced the list of 356 works competing for the 2017 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award.
The Prize is awarded biennially to works completed within the previous two years. The principal objective is to recognize and commend excellence and innovation in the field of architecture.
Among the 356 nominees there are 14 works by Catalan architects or architecture studios:

Checking information in the 27 Yearbooks published by the Architects’ Association of Catalonia between 1899 and 1930 is now even easier thanks to the digitization undertaken by the COAC Library's staff.
The main purpose of the digitization project, which joins others already undertaken by the Library, is to make this very interesting information, of great bibliographic value, as widely available as possible online while at the same time guaranteeing the preservation of the original documents.

El 9 de febrero comenzará la 5ª edición del Posgrado en Facility Management, dirigido por los arquitectos Felip Neri y Lluís Dalmau. El programa formativo de este posgrado se ha elaborado con el soporte de la Comisión Consultiva de Expertos en Facility Management (se puede consultar la lista de experos en la ficha del curso).
¿Qué tienen en común Bob Dylan, el Jeep y El Corte Inglés? Pues que tanto el flamante premio Nobel de Literatura como el legendario automóvil norteamericano y los grandes almacenes comerciales han celebrado este año su 75º aniversario. A este trío azaroso y septuagenario hay que añadir, también, la representación del Colegio de Arquitectos de Catalunya en el Ebro, nacida, como todos ellos, hace quince lustros.
